The existing house is exposed brick behind mature trees. The proposal keeps its structure and wraps the upper floor in a timber screen, with a stone wall turning the corner and a new boundary wall at the street.

About the project
Brief
Refresh the front of an existing house without rebuilding it or changing its plan.
Scope
House 333 is an elevation redesign for a private house in KDA Housing Society 1, Karachi. The work is limited on purpose to the facade and what faces the street. The existing structure is kept as the framework.
What changes
Openings, wall planes and details are redrawn as one composition with a clear order, so the house reads as a single design from the street. It shows how much a focused elevation redesign can change an existing home without touching the rooms behind it.
The new face
The upper floor is wrapped in a screen of vertical timber louvres that projects over the ground floor, giving shade and privacy to the rooms behind it. A stacked-stone wall rises through both floors to mark the corner, and the remaining walls are finished in grey textured plaster with large dark-framed windows. At street level a new boundary wall carries vertical slots of light, with a slatted timber gate.
